A global manufacturing organisation with commercial functions and operational sites across Australia had been navigating an extended period of transformation over 18 months. The change impacted people at every level of the business, from senior executives and mid-level leaders to frontline teams. The scale, duration and complexity of the transformation created ongoing uncertainty, fatigue and varied transition needs across different cohorts.
Partnering with the organisation’s human resources function, Progressional was engaged to design a career transition solution that could respond to this diversity while maintaining a consistent experience across the organisation. The challenge was to provide meaningful, role-appropriate support that recognised differing responsibilities, career stages and levels of influence, without fragmenting the overall change approach.
Progressional designed and delivered a three-tier transition strategy aligned to the organisation’s structure and workforce profile.
Our work included:
- Executive-level support, providing strategic executive coaching and tailored transition guidance to help senior leaders navigate change, assess their future direction and manage the personal and professional impacts of extended transformation
- Mid-level leader programs, focused on change readiness, career planning and capability building, supporting leaders who were managing both their own uncertainty and the expectations of their teams
- Frontline employee support, delivered through practical group workshops and one-to-one coaching, helping individuals understand the change, rebuild confidence and identify realistic next steps
- Close collaboration with Human Resources to ensure clarity of messaging, alignment across cohorts and consistency in how support was experienced across the organisation
This layered approach allowed Progressional to respond to varied needs while preserving a clear and connected transition framework.
The organisation was able to progress through complex, long-term change with greater confidence and stability. Employees across all levels felt supported, informed and equipped to navigate transition, enabling the business to move forward with clarity, consistency and care. Management reported observing sustainable changes in behaviours and attitudes post the support phase.
